RECALL: Watson Recalls Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen Tablets

Watson Laboratories has issued a nationwide voluntary recall of two lots of Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen 10mg/500mg Tablets due to potentially oversized tablets.

The affected lot numbers are 519406A and 521759A (exp. date 04/2014). Watson Laboratories commenced the recall as a precautionary measure due to the possibility that these tablets exceed the weight specification and contain potent doses of the ingredients Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen.  Unintentional ingestion of tablets with increased acetaminophen content could result in liver toxicity, especially in patients on other acetaminophen containing medications, patients with liver dysfunction, or people who consume >3 alcoholic beverages a day.  It is recommended that consumers who have these lots should contact their pharmacy or health care professional.

Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen tablets are indicated for the relief of moderate to moderately severe pain.
