Ranbaxy Recalls OTC Allergy Medication
Ranbaxy has announced a voluntary recall of 29,790 blister packs of an over-the-counter (OTC) allergy medication in the U.S. after an unacceptable number of blister defects were identified in loratadine and pseudoephedrine sulfate extended release tablets (10mg/240mg).
The affected 5, 10, and 15-count blister packs are from Lot #2554936 and #2554938 with an expiration date of September 2015, and were distributed across the US by CVS Pharmacy Inc., Drug Mart-Food Fair, The Kroger Co., Mckeeson, AmerisourceBergen, H-E-B, and Rite Aid. The affected blister packs were manufactured by Ranbaxy's Ohm Labs.
Loratadine 10mg and pseudoephedrine sulfate 240mg extended relief tabs are indicated for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis with nasal congestion in adults.
