The FDA is advising consumers not to buy or use the product Toxin Discharged Tea, a product promoted and sold for weight loss due to an undeclared ingredient.

FDA laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of fluoxetine, an SSRI indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), major depressive disorder (MDD); bulimia nervosa, or in combination with olanzapine for depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder or treatment resistant depression. Use of SSRIs have been associated with serious side effects including suicidal thinking, abnormal bleeding, and seizures. In patients on other medications for common conditions (aspirin, ibuprofen, or other drugs for depression, anxiety, bipolar illness, blood clots, chemotherapy, heart conditions, and psychosis), ventricular arrhythmia or sudden death can occur.
