Potentially Thicker Tablets Prompt Antidepressant Recall
Pfizer announced a voluntary recall of one lot of Zoloft (sertraline HCl) 100mg tablets. The recall was initiated after it was determined that a small quantity of tablets may potentially be thicker and/or overweight, which would exceed the specifications.
The affected product has Lot #M25569 with an expiration date of August 2018 and are packaged in 30-count bottles. At this time, the potential risk to the patient is considered to be low.
Zoloft, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), is indicated for use in patients with panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder, depression, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
