Perrigo announced a voluntary, nationwide product recall of 18 batches of its Acetaminophen Infant Suspension Liquid 160mg/5mL due to the possibility of a small number of packages containing an oral dosing syringe without dose markings.

RELATED: Pain Management Resource Center

The correct syringe should have a white or yellow plunger with specific dose markings for 1.25mL, 2.5mL, 3.75mL, and 5mL. The use of an oral syringe without dose markings can lead to inaccurate dosing, which may lead to an overdose for infants.

The affected products are sold in 2oz and 4oz bottles. The full list of recalled products and batch numbers can be found in the Perrigo press release.

Acetaminophen is an over-the-counter (OTC) product indicated for the relief of fever and minor aches and pains.
