Medaus Recalls Compounded Injectables

Medaus Pharmacy announced a voluntary recall of certain sterile compounded consumer products due to inability to confirm proper quality control testing performed by an independent, third party laboratory.

The affected lots met all safety standards but they are being recalled out of caution because the product's sterility cannot be confirmed. The use of non-sterile injectable products places patients at risk of contracting serious life-threatening infections.

Some of the affected products include testosterone, pyridoxine, and lipo injection with lidocaine. These products were dispensed between March 12 and July 22, 2013 nationwide. The full list of recalled products and lot numbers can be found here.

Medaus Pharmacy is notifying its customers by telephone and email, and is arranging for return of affected products.
