Actavis announced a voluntary recall of 1 lot of Ramipril Capsules 1.25mg due to an incorrect expiration date on the labeling. 

Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. A reduction in the product's efficacy is possible but it is not probable. The Company stated that stability testing results and assay projections indicate negligible impact on therapeutic response of the drug and a limited impact to patient safety.

The affected product (Lot #1136091A) was packaged with the expiration date of 03/2018, indicating a 24-month shelf life. The correct expiration date is 09/2017, indicating an 18-month shelf life. No other lots of Ramipril Capsules are affected.  The recalled lot was distributed in 30-count bottles during June 15-July 13, 2016.
