FDA: Hidden Ingredient Found in Sexual Enhancement Supplement
The FDA is advising consumers to not purchase or use Gold Vigra, a product marketed and sold for sexual enhancement.
FDA laboratory analysis confirmed the undeclared presence of sildenafil in the supplement. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra (sildenafil citrate; Pfizer), an FDA approved drug used to treat erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin. This may result in lowered blood pressure to dangerous levels. Nitrates are often taken by male patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease.
Consumers are to stop using this product immediately and discard it, as well as consult a healthcare professional if they have experienced any negative side effects from using the product. Gold Vigra has been sold on various websites and possibly in some retail stores.
