The Geriatric Psychiatry Patient in ED

The New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging, through a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, produced a 12-part, comprehensive curriculum for emergency medicine residents, entitled he Care of the Aging Medical Patient in the Emergency Room (CampER). This session addresses symptoms that the emergency department physician will likely encounter amongst geriatric patients, such as substance use and dependence, high risk of suicidal feelings, and a range of other psychiatric ailments.
