Indications for PROCTOCORT CREAM:

Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

Adults and Children's Dose:

Apply thin film to affected area 2–4 times daily.

Pharmacological Class:

Steroid.

Warnings/Precautions:

Treat infection if present; discontinue if infection persists or worsens. Do not use near eyes, or on diaper dermatitis or pre-existing skin atrophy. Systemic absorption increased by broken or inflamed skin, prolonged use, application to large surface area, or use of occlusive dressings. Discontinue or reduce dose if HPA axis suppression, Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia, glucosuria, or irritation occurs. Use lowest effective dose (esp. in children). Reevaluate periodically. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers.

Adverse Reactions:

Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria; immunosuppression, masks infections, HPA axis suppression (esp. in children).
