Indications for PALGIC ORAL SOLUTION:

Allergic (seasonal and perennial) and vasomotor rhinitis, conjunctivitis, urticaria, angioedema, reactions to blood. Adjunct in anaphylaxis. Dermatographism.

Adults and Children's Dose:

<1yr: not recommended. 1–6yrs: 2mg daily as needed; max 0.2–0.4mg/kg per day in divided doses 6–8 hrs apart. ≥6yrs: 4mg daily as needed; max 24mg/day in divided doses 6–8 hrs apart.

Pharmacological Class:

Antihistamine.

Contraindications:

Concomitant MAOIs. Asthma, lower respiratory disorders. Neonates. Premature infants. Nursing mothers.

Warnings/Precautions:

Glaucoma. GI or urinary obstruction. Hyperthyroidism. Cardiovascular disease. Hypertension. Elderly. Pregnancy (Cat.C).

Interactions:

Potentiates alcohol, other CNS depressants. Potentiates anticholinergic effects with MAOIs.

Adverse Reactions:

Drowsiness, dizziness, GI upset, thickening of bronchial secretions, anticholinergic effects, excitability in children.
