Pharmacological class: Antineoplastic (taxane antimicrotubule agent).
Active Ingredient: Cabazitaxel 60mg/1.5mL; soln for IV infusion after dilution; contains polysorbate 80, diluent contains ethanol.
Indication: In combination with prednisone, hormone-refractory metastatic prostate cancer previously treated with a docetaxel-containing regimen.
Company: Sanofi-aventis

Abbott RealTime HBV test approved

Abbott announced that the FDA has approved its RealTime HBV assay for measuring the amount of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in human plasma or serum from individuals chronically infected with HBV.

Tygacil labeling updated to include increased mortality risk
