AirStrip announced that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the AirStrip Sense4Baby wireless maternal/fetal monitoring system for use by pregnant patients to self-administer non-stress tests (NST).

Sense4Baby is a remote, wireless maternal/fetal heart rate monitoring system used to perform non-stress testing (NST) for high-risk pregnancies during the antepartum period that utilizes the AirStrip mobile interoperability platform.

A research study will be conducted by the University of Utah to assess the feasibility of integrating an at-home NST monitoring program with a local high-risk population into an established health care system and to evaluate patient and provider satisfaction.

Sense4Baby previously received FDA clearance in 2013 for use in clinical settings.
