The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared for market the first flushable, biodegradable pregnancy test, the Lia Pregnancy Test (Lia Diagnostics) for over-the-counter use.

The Lia Pregnancy Test is made with the same plant based fibers as most toilet paper and weighs less than 6 squares of the leading 3-ply toilet paper. The new test was developed to meet a desire for discretion and to be more environmentally friendly. The Company stated in a press release that it was specifically created, 'For women who value privacy, empowering users to choose how to share their results.'
