Compared to the 4 cases reported to the CDC in 2013, at least 51 cases of measles have been reported in the state of California this year. A second unvaccinated student at the University of California, Berkeley has tested positive for the disease. The student, who was on a flight to Oakland on March 30th and rode the Bay Area Rapid Transit system on April 1-3, is the second UC Berkeley student to become infected this year.  Another unvaccinated student was previously reported to have developed measles back in February. CDC points out that the delay or avoidance of measles vaccination has been a major factor in recent outbreaks.
