Remedium Technologies announced it has received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Hemogrip Patch for the treatment of uncontrolled hemorrhage.

The Hemogrip Patch, used at vascular access sites, is indicated to help control bleeding when accessing veins or arteries for medical treatments. The Hemogrip technology uses chitosan, a natural polymer found in the exoskeleton of shrimp, crabs, and other crustaceans. It is cost-effective, biocompatible, anti-microbial, and durable under various environmental conditions. Hemogrip forms a nano-scale, three-dimensional mesh that quickly coagulates blood and stops blood loss.
