A plastic skull printed using 3-D technology has been successfully implanted in a 22-year-old woman, replacing most of her own skull. The patient was suffering from thickening of the skull that was causing severe headaches, vision loss, and loss of motor coordination.The procedure was conducted in the Netherlands over 23 hours about three months ago and the patient is reporting that she is no longer experiencing headaches or vision problems.
