FDA Approves Mobile Blood Glucose Monitor, App for Android

A blood glucose monitoring device that plugs into the headphone jack of cell phones has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use on Android operating systems. The iOS version of The Gmate SMART device and app had gained FDA approval in August 2014. The portable glucose meter is roughly the same size as a quarter and works in tandem with a free app to give fast and accurate blood glucose results to users.

The device and app are fully integrated, allowing the user to set goals, create graphs, and send their blood glucose results to family or healthcare providers via text and email. The device timestamps all results and can store an unlimited amount of tests.
