Contact-Free Vital Signs Monitoring Device Gets FDA Clearance

EarlySense has announced that the FDA has issued clearance for the Chair Sensor Solution, the first automatic contact-free sensor for continuous monitoring of patients' vital signs in a chair.

The Chair Sensor Solution continuously monitors the patient's heart rate, respiratory rate, and movement while sitting and does not require any user contact. This can assist clinicians in recognizing and promptly responding to key early warning signs for timely interventions for non-ICU patients to prevent patient falls when ambulating patients.

The FDA clearance is based on clinical evaluations where a team was successful in proactively responding to early signs of patient deterioration and in preventing patient falls.
