Baxter and Water Street Healthcare partners announced that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Cefazolin Injection in Galaxy Container. Cefazolin Injection was on the FDA's drug shortage list for over a year due to high demand.

Cefazolin is a cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for preoperative prophylaxis treatment to reduce the incidence off certain postoperative infections for high-risk patients undergoing surgical procedures. The bactericidal agent acts by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis.
