AliveCor, Inc. announced that the FDA has granted over-the-counter (OTC) clearance to the AliveCor Heart Monitor. A mobile single-channel electrocardiogram (ECG) recorder, the AliveCor Heart Monitor is used to detect, monitor, and analyze irregular heart rhythms.

The AliveCor Heart Monitor records, displays, stores, and transfers ECG rhythms via a wireless Internet connection and the free AliveECG app for iPhone and Andoid smartphones. This information is stored online and can be shared with the patient's physician.
