Moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms of menopause. Atrophic vaginitis. Kraurosis vulvae. Hypoestrogenism.
Menopause: 1.25mg daily, give cyclically (3 weeks on, 1week off); if menstruating use Day 5 start. Atrophic vaginitis, kraurosis vulvae: 0.3–1.25mg or more daily, give cyclically (3 weeks on, 1 week off). Hypogonadism: 2.5–7.5mg daily in divided doses for 20 days then stop for 10 days; repeat course if withdrawal bleeding does not occur within these 10 days. If bleeding occurs within 10 days, begin 20-day cyclic regimen adding an oral progestin. If bleeding occurs before this regimen is finished, discontinue therapy and may resume on Day 5 of bleeding. Female castration, primary ovarian failure: 1.25mg daily, cyclically. Reevaluate periodically.
