the MPR take:
Salaries for family physicians have increased, but those earning <$120,000 are also on the rise. The American Academy of Family’s Physicians' 2013 Practice Profile Survey found that the average income for a family physician was $190,907, the highest since the survey began 30 years ago. The median income was $170,000, with a third earning <$120,000 and a quarter earning >$210,000. This means that while salaries are on the rise overall, more are earning salaries in the lowest category of <$120,000.

When adjusted for inflation, the 2012 average still rises above previous years, but the median is similar.
