Indications for MAGNACET:

Moderate to moderately severe pain.

Adult Dose for MAGNACET:

1 tab every 6 hrs as needed. 5mg/400mg: max 10 tabs/day. 7.5mg/400mg: max 8 tabs/day. 10mg/400mg: max 6 tabs/day. Max 4g of acetaminophen per day.

Children's Dose for MAGNACET:

Not recommended.

Pharmacological Class:

Opioid + analgesic.

Warnings/Precautions:

Head injury. Increased intracranial pressure. Acute abdominal conditions. Severe pulmonary, renal, hepatic, thyroid, or adrenocortical dysfunction. Asthma. GI or GU obstruction. Drug abusers. Elderly. Debilitated. Labor & delivery. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers.

Interactions:

Potentiation with alcohol, other CNS depressants, MAOIs, tricyclics, phenothiazines. Anticholinergics may cause paralytic ileus.

Adverse Reactions:

Lightheadedness, dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting, euphoria, dysphoria, constipation, rash, pruritus; overdosage: respiratory depression, hepatotoxicity.
