Are Statins Appropriately Utilized Among HIV Patients?


SAN DIEGO — Limited data exists for statin utilization among HIV patients in real world settings in accordance with the 2013 ACC/AHA cholesterol guidelines, among the HIV population in real world settings. MPR spoke to Gerome Escota, MD, at IDWeek 2017, who co-authored a review at a large urban outpatient center to identify the proportion of appropriate statin use.
