Eletriptan HBr has high affinity to 5-HT1B/1D, 5-HT1D, and 5-HT1F receptors and modest affinity for 5-HT1A, 5-HT1E, 5-HT2B and 5-HTreceptors. Its agonist effects at the 5-HT1B/1D receptors on intracranial blood vessels and sensory nerves of the trigeminal system result in cranial vessel constriction and inhibition of pro-inflammatory neuropeptide release.

Eletriptan HBr Tablets are available as 20mg and 40mg strengths in 1x6 tablet blister packs.
