Mylan Launches Generic Seasonale

Mylan announced the launch of Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets, the generic version of Teva's Seasonale.

Seasonale is a combination progestin/estrogen oral contraceptive indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women who elect to use oral contraceptives as a method of contraception. Combination oral contraceptives act by suppression of gonadotropins. The primary mechanism of this action is inhibition of ovulation. Other alternations include change sin the cervical mucus (which increase the difficulty of sperm entry into the uterus and changes in the endometrium (which reduce the likelihood of implantation).

Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol is available in a 0.15mg/0.03mg strength. Mylan has begun shipping this product.
