Therapeutic Use:

Indications for ALUPENT INHALER:

Asthma. Bronchospasm.

Adult Dose for ALUPENT INHALER:

2–3 inh every 3–4 hrs; max 12 inh daily.

Children's Dose for ALUPENT INHALER:

Not recommended.

Metaproterenol Inh Soln

Pharmacological Class:

beta-2 agonist.

Contraindications:

Arrhythmias associated with tachycardia.

Warnings/Precautions:

Avoid excessive use. Hypertension. Cardiovascular disease. CHF. Hyperthyroidism. Diabetes. Seizure disorders. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers.

Interactions:

Avoid other aerosol β-agonists. Potentiated by sympathomimetics, tricyclics, MAOIs.

Adverse Reactions:

Tachycardia, nervousness, tremor, headache, dizziness, GI upset, hypertension, paradoxical bronchospasm, cough, bad taste.
