† Do not wear contact lenses during treatment. To prevent contamination, the dropper tip should not touch the eyelids or surrounding areas. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. * Contains benzalkonium chloride. May be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Avoid wearing lenses with signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis, especially if eye is red. However, contact lenses may be worn but should be removed prior to instillation and reinserted 10 minutes after dosing if eye is not red. ** Not an inclusive list. Bepreve approved for ocular itch

The FDA has approved Bepreve (bepotastine besilate ophthalmic solution, from ISTA Pharmaceuticals), a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, for the treatment of itching associated with signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.

Claritin Eye available for allergy eye itch relief

Schering-Plough has expanded the Claritin product line with the introduction of Claritin Eye (ketotifen ophthalmic solution), an antihistamine eye drop that relieves itchy eyes due to pollen, ragweed, grass, animal hair and dander for up to 12 hours.

Acuvail approved for post-cataract surgery pain and inflammation

The FDA has approved Acuvail (ketorolac tromethamine ophthalmic solution, from Allergan), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation following cataract surgery.
